Moneyball Odds publishes football statistics, match previews and reports, analysis (the Moneyball Originals) and a feed of headlines from other publishers. This page says how that content is made and checked.
1. What we publish
- Data pages: Match Live, the Match Board, the Stats Centre, player and club pages. Figures come from Sportmonks match data and our own models.
- Moneyball Originals: previews, match reports and analysis written by Moneyball Odds.
- Football News headlines: links to articles by other publishers. Each publisher is responsible for its own article; we show its headline, name and link, and do not rewrite it.
2. Accuracy
Every number in our own writing is taken from the data, not typed by hand: scores, goals, ratings, expected goals and rankings are filled in from Sportmonks data and our models, and recalculated when the data is updated. We do not publish invented quotes, invented statistics or rumours presented as fact. Where something is an estimate, we say so; where the data cannot support a claim (a league position, for example, when points are not in our data), we leave the claim out.
3. Automation and AI
Much of our writing is produced automatically from data: match previews and reports are written by templates that fill in the facts of each match. We also use AI tools to help write templates, analysis and the software behind the site. A person at Moneyball Odds reviews the templates and the analysis pieces before they are published, and is responsible for what appears. AI is never used to invent facts, quotes, results or sources. Pictures on our Originals are our own graphics, not photographs made to look real.
4. Predictions, marked honestly
Every match report sets the estimate published before kick-off against the result, hits and misses alike, and the Track Record collects them. We do not remove a prediction that went wrong.
5. Independence
No club, player, agent or betting operator pays for coverage, and our rankings are not for sale. Anything sponsored would be labelled clearly as such.
6. Corrections
If something we published is wrong, we correct it. Data errors usually correct themselves with the next update from Sportmonks; errors in our writing are fixed as soon as we find or are told of them. Tell us at [email protected], with the page and what is wrong.
